DVD REVIEW

Hellraiser - Hellworld

Director: Rick Bota
Cast: Lance Henriksen, Kathryn Winnick, Khary Payton
Classification: 16LSV
Running Time:
91 min

This one should have been called Dullworld.
A group of young adults are invited to a mansion for special Hellworld party, hosted by Lance Henriksen. All I kept thinking was why and old codger like Henriksen would be hosting this party (it all gets revealed at the end).  Anyway, as the evening wears on the group of friends are sliced, diced and decapitated by Pinhead in a horror movie filled with poor acting and uninspiring special effects. Hopefully it will quickly disappear into the pantheon of unforgettable teenage slasher flicks.
The only highlights, as far as I am concerned, are a very cool soundtrack and watching Chelsea (Winnick) running around in tight leather pants. Granted you won’t see the kicker coming at the end of the film, but it is so preposterous you will find yourself saying “Oh”, rather than “Wow”.
If it’s the last title available at the video store on a Friday night, rather go and baby-sit someone’s toddler.
